Foundation Collegiate Academy - Team

Andrea Adore-Ross is the high school Chemistry teacher. Ms. Ross has taught science on the Secondary Level for over 10 years. She has previously taught at Mt. Vernon School District in Mt. Vernon NY, New York City School District Bronx, NY, Green Valley Academy Paoli, PA and Valley Forge Military Academy Wayne, PA. She earned her B.S. in chemistry from SUNY Stony Brook with departmental honors and her MS in Secondary Education from Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, NY.

Michelle Mazzella teaches History and Geography at Foundation Collegiate Academy. Ms. Mazzella did her student teaching at the Thomas Grover Middle School in West Windsor and Trenton Central High School. She earned a B.A. in History and Secondary Education at The College of New Jersey, graduating magna cum laude.

Mary Elizabeth “Liz” Ramamurthy is a founding Special Education teacher. Ms. Ramamurthy joined Foundation Collegiate Academy from Crescent View Middle School in Salt Lake City, UT where she worked as a special education teacher. Mary has previous experience as an educational assistant with the YESS Program in the Granite School District and student taught at Jackson Elementary and at Bonneville Jr. High. Mary attended the University of Utah and received her B.A. in German and her Honors B.A. in Sociology. She also has earned her Masters of Education in Mild/Moderate Special Education from the University of Utah.

Marlene Rice is the Orchestra Director and a music teacher at both the middle and high school of Foundation Academy. A professional violinist with experience in major orchestras and ensembles throughout the United States, Ms. Rice was previously Program Director and Teaching Artist for The Noel Pointer Music Foundation. In addition, Ms. Rice has served as a string instructor in the New York City and Detroit Public Schools. Ms. Rice received a B.S. from Eastern Michigan University and a Master of Music from the University of Michigan.

Stephen Ryan is the Founding High School Math Teacher. A career changer entering full time teaching with Foundation Academy, he is a graduate of the Philadelphia Teacher Residency program, during which he served at Benjamin Franklin High School. Prior to entering teaching, Mr. Ryan had a successful career in the business world, working in marketing, sales and engineering. Mr. Ryan received his Bachelor of Science in Engineering Science and Mechanics from the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, a Master of Business Administration from the Smurfit Graduate School of Business at University College, Dublin in Ireland and his Master of Science in Education, with a concentration in Secondary Mathematics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Graduate School of Education.

Inessa Shor is the Founding College Advisor at Foundation Collegiate Academy. She came to Foundation with experience working as a Student Assistance Counselor at Allentown High School (NJ), a Therapist at The Lester A. Drenk Behavioral Health Center (NJ) and other mental health, counseling and youth development work. Ms. Shor received her B.A. in Psychology Magna Cum Laude from Rutgers University and her M.A. in School Counseling from the College of New Jersey.

Jill Spiegel is the Founding High School English Teacher at Foundation Collegiate Academy. She taught for three school years in the Foundation Academy middle school prior to joining the high school faculty. In her time with Foundation Academy, Ms. Spiegel has taught 6th, 7th and 8th Grade English-Language Arts. Prior to joining Foundation Academy, Ms. Spiegel student taught in Baltimore County, MD. She received her B.S. Magna Cum Laude in English and Secondary Education from Towson University.

Gloria Thompson Rosario, the Founding High School Spanish Teacher at Foundation Collegiate, is a veteran New Jersey Spanish Teacher. She has taught at D.U.E. Season Charter School in Camden, Northern Burlington County Regional High School, the State of New Jersey-Office of Education, Memorial Middle School in Willingboro and the Burlington School District. Ms. Thompson Rosario is the co-founder of a charter school that is scheduled to open in Willingboro in the fall of 2012. She earned her B.A. in Puerto Rico and Hispanic Caribbean Studies from Rutgers University.
